Removing Virus In Windows PC & Mac

June 24, 2017 By Jefrey Landicho Leave a Comment

In this post, we will discuss how to clean or remove viruses, malware , trojan, spyware, secret miner on your Windows PC and Mac OSX as well as how to prevent your system from being attacked again.
If your computer has been infected which I assumed it is, the first step you would need to do is do a full computer scan. In order to do that, you will need to install an antivirus or anti-malware program. You can check the list of antivirus and antimalware in the resources page.
So first, download any antivirus program on the resources pages and make sure the one you download is based on the OS or Operating system that you are using.
If you encounter an issue like unable to download and install the application (some virus will prevent you from accessing antinvirus website), you will need to switch your system to SAFE MODE with network enabled.

How to Switch Your Computer To Safe Mode

Windows

There are several ways on how you can switch your OS in safe mode but in windows PC, the easiest method is using F4 / 4 Key. In order to access the safe mode, you would need to restart or boot your computer and continuously hit press the F4 or 4 key after the boot load sequence or right after a logo is displayed on your screen. If your computer is a bit power, the logo won’t probably show up due to high speed loading so press F4 in half a second after booting.

Mac

To boot your mac OS in safe mode, you would need to restart your Mac and immediately press and hold the Shift key. Once your Mac OS boot, you will see the White Apple logo appear which is telling you that you are booting to safe mode.

If you want to leave the safe mode, what you need to do is simply boot your computer without pressing anything.

Back Up Your System Before anything else

Before you start cleaning the virus, spyware, malware, etc on your computer, It is best that you backup your current operating system.

  • To backup a system on Mac OS, type “Time Machine” on the search field and run the application.
  • To backup a system on Windows OS, type “System Restore on the search field and run the application.

Once you complete doing a backup of your system, you can start with the virus and malware clean up on your system.
